Glenbrook Gardens Fall Cleanup
Happy Fall, everyone!
As a reminder to neighbors that have reserved a garden plot this year, October 31st is the deadline to clean up your garden plots, remove any cages or fences that you hope to keep, and remove any volunteer trees that have sprouted this year. We hope that you come back next year and bring a friend to help our community garden really flourish.
Here’s a copy of the gardening agreement.
Access to and use of the garden plots by residents is at the resident’s own risk. GHA assumes no responsibility for the gardener’s safety, nor for protection of the garden during the growing season. The owner of the garden property has rights of access to the property at any time. Association dues must be paid in full and up to date.
Glenbrook Homes Association agrees to:
Provide garden plots about 20 ft. by 20 ft., marked and identified.
Water for gardeners’ use (as long as water is turned on for the sprinkler system).
Limited supply of hoses.
Each Spring, garden plots will be reserved for last year’s gardener as long as possible. Vacant lots will be assigned on a “first come – first served” basis. Specific plots can be assigned per the gardener’s request if available.
If a plot is not kept up to this agreement, or cleaned up in the fall by the gardener, the plot will be cleaned by GHA and billed to the gardener to whom the plot was assigned in the current year.
The Association will occasionally perform weed control on unassigned plots throughout the summer to keep the area more attractive.
Gardener agrees to:
Utilize the space and keep it weed free.
Perform any pre-planting tillage the gardener deems necessary.
Clean up the space in the fall after the garden season and dispose of the trash no later than October 31 of the current year. Clean up includes removal of fencing, tomato cages, sprinklers, etc. If not removed, these items will become the property of GHA and will be disposed of.
Install fencing, tomato cages, etc. at the gardener’s expense.
Remove any volunteer trees currently growing in the plot, or which may start through the growing season.
Not park on the grass or in a spot which makes garden plot access for other gardeners or residents difficult.
Not take without permission produce, tools, or other materials from other gardeners Glenbrook Homes Association reserves the right to deny garden usage regardless of availability, if the requester has not met the terms of this agreement, or did not meet the terms of the preceding year.
