You Are Invited to a Community Bible Study
When? On Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30 PM.
Where? At the Glenbrook Homes Association Clubhouse, 7901 Vane St., Omaha
Starting When? Thursday, November 5, 2026
Ending When? Thursday, December 17
What would be my commitment? Six sessions, with time off for Thanksgiving, and ending before Christmas Eve.
Who is the Leader? Jim Bartsch
Is there any Charge? Not a penny. This is all free. The cost will be how much effort you invest into attending and into preparing suggested assignments for the next session.
What is the Topic? We will be looking at the first few chapters of Genesis. For example, Genesis 1-11gives God’s perspective on the beginning of the earth and mankind, and what went wrong. This 6-session unit will begin to answer questions like ....
● Who am I?
● How did I get here?
● Why am I here?
● Where am I going?
● What is my responsibility?
● Why is there evil in the world?
● Why are there storms?
● What can I do to prepare for life after death?
If you are interested, call or text or email Jim Bartsch and let him know you are coming. It would be helpful if you could bring your own Bible. If you don’t have one, let Jim know. Bring along a spiral bound notebook and a pen (or your own computer) if you wish to jot down any notes.

A Little Bit about Jim Bartsch
He was born in 1947 in Lawrence, Kansas. That makes him nearly 80 years old.
He has been happily married to Esther for 58 years.
His wife, Esther, loves to bake and sew. Lately she has been working on quilts.
He has a Th.M from Dallas Theological Seminary (where he became a Dallas Cowboys fan).
He has been a pastor for decades.
He served as a youth pastor for four years in Adelaide, South Australia.
He taught Bible in a Christian Middle School and High School for 5 years up in Huron, South Dakota.
He has four children, all married.
His oldest son died unexpectedly a year and a half ago.
He has 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
He is retired and is presently serving on the Board of Directors of Glenbrook Homes Association.
